In case of SIC02 error, check the message displayed on the remote control: depending on what is indicated, the causes and actions to be taken may differ.
Message displayed on the remote control: LACK OF DEPRESSION or LACK OF DEPRESSION IN THE FLUE PIPE
The SIC02 with lack of depression message is the shutdown triggered by the safety pressure switch when it exceeds 60 Pascals.
Possible causes are:- Obstructed flue pipe and/or wind in the flue pipe
This is the main cause that occurs in SIC02 cases. Before performing any checks, it is recommended to measure the draft of the flue pipe with the Testo 510 instrument, verifying if the flue pipe is installed according to current regulations (it must have a draft of 10-12 Pa, external parts must be insulated, it must be equipped with a weather cap, etc...). Check for any obstructions inside or at the outlet of the flue pipe and perform cleaning.
- Faulty pressure switch or faulty control unit
This cause is very rare. Check the wiring and verify the integrity of the pressure switch by removing the silicone tube connected to the smoke snail and blowing into the inlet (P1 inlet of the pressure switch). If you hear a metallic clicking, then it is still working; simultaneously check the contact integrity with a tester (buzzer) at terminals 1 and 2; if the buzzer stops while you blow, the pressure switch is working.
To confirm the actual malfunction of the pressure switch, create a temporary electrical bridge on the wires connected to the pressure switch to close the contact and turn on the stove. If the error appears immediately, then it is possible that the control unit is faulty and must be replaced.
- Message displayed on the remote control: INSUFFICIENT DRAFT
The SIC02 with insufficient draft message is the shutdown due to clogged air intake or lack of minimum suction.
The main cause is an anomaly of the flow read by the FCS. Clean the air intake and check that the tubes are not bent, dirty, disconnected, and especially not reversed. In case of breakage, deactivate the FCS (see p. 5) and manually adjust the combustion, so that during the waiting period for the replacement the stove still works.
