The error ER02 is the shutdown triggered by the safety pressure switch.
The possible causes of ER02 are:
- Blocked chimney flue and/or wind in the chimney flue
This is the main cause that occurs in cases of ER02.
Before performing any checks, it is recommended to measure the chimney draft with the testo 510 tool, verifying if the chimney is installed according to current regulations (it must have a draft of 10-12 Pa, the external parts must be insulated, it must be equipped with a weatherproof cap, etc...). Check for any obstructions inside or at the exit of the chimney and perform cleaning.
- Faulty pressure switch or faulty control unit
This cause occurs very rarely. Check the wiring and verify the integrity of the pressure switch by removing the silicone tube connected to the smoke spiral and blowing into the inlet (P1 input of the pressure switch). If you hear a metallic clicking, then it is still functioning; simultaneously check the integrity of the contact with a tester (buzzer) at terminals 1 and 2. If the buzzer stops while you blow, the pressure switch is functioning.
To confirm the actual malfunction of the pressure switch, create a temporary electrical bridge at the control unit terminals (PIN 14-15) and turn on the stove. If the error appears immediately, then it is possible that the control unit is faulty and must be replaced.
During ER02 shutdown phase
During the shutdown phase, error 02 (ER02 alarm) is activated when the pressure in the chimney exceeds 60 Pa; this anomaly is generally attributable to an obstruction of the flue duct.
