The error ER01 is the shutdown triggered by the safety thermostat of the hopper or the manual reset thermostat for high water temperature.
To reset the manual reset safety thermostat (located at the rear of the boiler), you need to:
- Remove the black cylindrical plastic cap by unscrewing it counterclockwise.
- Press the button underneath until you hear a click.
The possible causes of ER01 are:
- Air in the system
Reset the safety thermostat and clear the error. Bleed the air from the system from one of the radiators and/or the jolly valve.
- Circulator blocked
Reset the safety thermostat to clear the error and check the correct operation of the circulator via System Menu / Output Test.
Warning: after a prolonged period of inactivity of the generator, it is possible for limescale deposits to form in the circulator.
It is recommended to keep the stove/boiler powered even during the summer period, as the control unit manages cyclical activations of the circulator to prevent it from blocking.
- Faulty room fan
Check the correct operation of the room fan via System Menu / Output Test. Replace the fan if malfunctioning.
- Faulty safety thermostat or faulty control unit
Reset the safety thermostat, clear the error, and turn the boiler back on. If the thermostat does not trip or if the error reoccurs immediately, it is likely that the thermostat itself is faulty. To confirm the actual malfunction of the thermostat, check if there is continuity across the thermostat terminals. If the circuit is open, the thermostat must be replaced.
Check the wiring and continuity on the wires.
To confirm the actual malfunction of the safety thermostat, create a temporary electrical bridge on the control unit terminals (Pos. H1 PIN 13-14) and turn on the boiler. If the error occurs immediately, then it is possible that the control unit is faulty and must be replaced.
