SIC08

Message displayed on the remote control: REG. ENCODER or CHECK SMOKE EXTRACTOR ENCODER

SIC08 is the shutdown due to non-regulating encoder.

Possible causes are due to a breakage or malfunction of 3 components (smoke fan including encoder, encoder cable, control unit):

- Smoke fan speed too high

The error occurs when the control unit does not read the correct speed of the rotations it sends to the smoke fan, this can happen in the presence of:
• Power surges
• The smoke fan does not support, therefore does not reach, the speed set by the control unit.
• The control unit's encoder cannot regulate the fan speed.
• Presence of dirt inside the snail that slows down the impeller.

- Faulty control unit
 

Deactivate the FCS and set power to 5. Unlock the error and turn the stove back on, read the smoke fan speed in the "Displays" menu. If the speeds are unstable, it is likely that the smoke fan or control unit is faulty. 
Replace in case of malfunction.
