Message displayed on the remote control: TANK TERM. or PELLET TANK OVERHEATING
SIC01 is the shutdown triggered by the safety thermostat of the hopper.
Possible causes are:
- Faulty room fan (The stove overheats due to the room fan not dissipating heat)
Clear the error and check the operation of the room fan through output tests in the system menu; also, with a tester, check if the terminals related to the room fan have voltage when the stove is off. If they show a value different from zero, the control unit probably needs to be replaced as well. Replace the room fan if it is malfunctioning.
- Faulty thermostat or control unit
Clear the error and turn the stove back on; if the error reoccurs immediately, it is likely that the thermostat itself is faulty. To confirm the actual malfunction of the thermostat, check for continuity across the thermostat terminals. If the circuit is open, the thermostat must be replaced.
To confirm the actual malfunction of the control unit, create a temporary electrical bridge on the wires connected to the thermostat to close the contact and turn on the stove. If the error occurs immediately, then the control unit may be faulty and must be replaced.
