The SIC03 alarm corresponds to a shutdown caused by a flue gas temperature that is too low (below 45 °C). To resolve this issue, perform the following checks:
- Make sure the pellet tank is sufficiently full.
- Check the operation of the auger and its motor using the “Loading” function or from the Output Test menu.
- If the motor is working properly and the tank is full, adjust the air/pellet ratio in the “Calibration” menu.
- Check the flue gas temperature probe: verify the wiring, clean it, and replace it if necessary.
- If the alarm activates when the flue gas temperature is already above 45 °C, it may be necessary to make a slight adjustment to parameters 08 (reduce it by 2) and 09 (increase it by 10) in the “NEW MANAGEMENT” menu.
If the problem persists after these checks, please provide us with the model of the device, the temperature values recorded at the time of shutdown, and especially in which operating phase the SIC03 alarm appears (operation, modulation, grate cleaning). This information can help us identify the source of the problem more precisely.
Possible causes are:
- Pellet depleted
- Auger jammed and/or auger motor malfunctioning
Before turning on the stove, activate the “Loading” function in the user menu or via output tests in the system menu to verify the proper operation of the auger and motor.
- Incorrect fuel mixture
If the motor runs correctly and the hopper is full of pellets, the error may simply be due to an insufficient amount of fuel and an excess of combustion air, so the pellet and air mixture should be adjusted via the “Settings” option.
- Flue gas thermocouple malfunction
After checking the wiring, check if the flue gas thermocouple located in the cast iron spiral at the flue gas outlet is dirty or improperly positioned by reading the flue gas temperature in the “Displays” menu. Replace the flue gas thermocouple if it malfunctions.
Attention: if the SIC03 alarm appears while the flue gas temperature, detected by the thermocouple, is above 45°C, the problem could be related to parameters 08 - LESS FLUE TIME and 09 - LESS FLUE DELTA, found in the NEW MANAGEMENT menu of the System menu.
The operation is as follows:
when the flue gas temperature drops by 1°C, a timer is activated whose duration is defined by parameter 08. If, during this time interval, the temperature continues to fall beyond the value set in parameter 09, the stove goes into SIC03.
To prevent this error, you can:
slightly increase the value of parameter 09 to allow for a greater temperature variation;
slightly reduce the value of parameter 08 to shorten the time during which the temperature drop is monitored.
