FLUE PROBE – Display of Negative Temperature (-10°C)
If in the “INFORMATION” section of the remote control or machine display the flue temperature is shown with a negative value (e.g., -10°C), the condition is generally not real and indicates a reading anomaly.
▿ Most common case: reversed connection
In most cases, the problem is due to the inversion of the flue probe cables on the control unit.
Resolution
• Turn off the stove power supply
• Locate the flue probe cables connected to the control unit
• Reverse the cable connections
• Restore the power supply
• Check that the temperature is displayed correctly with a positive value
▿ Other possible causes
If the problem persists even after checking the wiring, consider the following possible anomalies:
• Faulty or out-of-range flue probe
• Interrupted wiring or loose contact
• Short circuit or electrical interference (e.g., proximity to high voltage components)
• Electronic board malfunction
▿ Recommended verification procedure
- Visual wiring inspection
Check the integrity of cables and connectors - Probe continuity check
Measure with a multimeter to exclude interruptions - Insulation check
Verify absence of short circuits or leakage - Cable positioning check
Ensure they are not in contact with power lines - Component replacement (if necessary)
• Flue probe
• Wiring
• Electronic board
▿ Technical note
A stable negative reading (e.g., constant -10°C) typically indicates a signal error and not the actual flue temperature.
