The room thermostat is one of the key elements in controlling the performance and efficiency of an aqua stove. Its main function is to monitor the room temperature and send a thermal demand signal (or a cessation of it) to the stove. Its behavior is not fixed but varies based on the configured hydraulic setup and the parameters specified in the technical menu.
As stated in the technical manual, with the default hydraulic configuration set to zero (P26 = 0), the room thermostat can assume different roles depending on the value assigned to parameter A01, which defines the mode of managing the thermal demand.
Below are the detailed possible configurations:
A01 = 1 (factory setting)
In this mode, when the room thermostat detects that the set temperature has been reached, the operating state of the aqua stove changes from Normal to Modulation. The stove then automatically reduces power, maintaining the minimum necessary to ensure system stability and continuity, without fully shutting down.
A01 = 0 (On/Off mode)
With this setting, the room thermostat directly controls the appliance's on/off cycle. Upon reaching the set room temperature, the stove switches from the Normal state to Off, then turns back on when the temperature drops below the set threshold again. This logic is typical of systems that require a clear thermal demand management.
A01 = 2 (Stand-by mode)
When value 2 is selected, the stove switches from Normal mode to Stand-by upon reaching the room temperature. The appliance remains ready for automatic restart when the heat demand reoccurs, thus reducing consumption and full on/off cycles.
A01 = 4 (Stand-by with primary pump P1 lock)
This configuration works like the previous one, with the difference that, in addition to switching to Stand-by, the primary pump (P1) is also locked. This function is useful in particular systems where it is necessary to completely stop water circulation, for example in combination with systems with zone valves or in conditions where parasitic circulation is to be avoided.
In summary, the room thermostat does not perform a single fixed function but integrates flexibly with the aqua stove electronics, allowing the technician to calibrate the appliance’s behavior based on the type of system, energy needs, and desired operating logic.
