Check Firmware Version After Software Update

Introduction

After installing a firmware update, it may happen that the “Views” menu still shows a previous version compared to the installed package. This condition does not necessarily indicate a failed update.

Observed Behavior

After installing firmware update version 02-26:

• the “Views” menu still displays the label 03-25;
• the technician may doubt the correct installation of the firmware.

Checks to Perform

To confirm the correct firmware update:

1. Access the “Views” menu.
2. Check the identification string present in the system.
3. Verify that the label matches the one reported in the updated firmware database.
4. Check for the presence of the correct software extensions or revisions (e.g., xxx_1, xxx_2, etc.).

Verification Outcome

If the label present in the menu matches the one expected in the updated database, the firmware update is correctly installed even if the menu still displays version 03-25.

The correct verification must be performed by comparing the complete firmware string present in the system with the one reported in the updated technical database.

The label displayed in the menu may not fully update after the firmware upload and does not necessarily represent an anomaly of the installed software.
